HELLO
When I decided to research my family tree I knew very little of my family history and thought I would have it done and dusted in a year or so - here I am many years later totally addicted to the "untold stories" and here to help you discover yours. My husband is Irish and I quickly found out so am I! In fact my gg grandfather grew up only half an hour from where my husband's family lives now. Another ancestor (an engineer and general in the British army so it turned out) lived in Menorca in the 1700's and his home is now a hotel - it's on my bucket list to go and stay there - I will raise a glass to him as I look out over the Mediterranean and try and imagine his life. And then there is another ancestor (a little unsavoury) who deserted his wife and children in New Zealand. She said he was dead when she remarried but in fact he had returned to London and had another family - he gave his new children the same names as the children he had left behind. Their stories are endlessly fascinating, and I'm sure they never dreamt that we would find out all these years later some of the things that they got up to ...
